Menorah

The Jewish Menorah is described in the Bible as the seven-branched ancient lampstand made of gold originally stood in the ancient temples in Jerusalem and has been a symbol of the Jewish religion for almost 3,000 years.
The Menorah has been in used in the portable sanctuary and has been set up by Moses in the wilderness and later in the Temple in Jerusalem.
God Himself revealed the Menorah design to Moses, as described in Exodus 25:31-40. The original Menorah had seven branches and was an oil lamp, Fresh olive oil of the purest quality that was burned daily to light the lamps.
The Kohanim (Jewish priests) lit the Menorah in the Temple Sanctuary each evening, and cleaned it each morning, putting fresh olive oil into the cups after cleaning the wicks. When the Temple was destroyed in 73 A.C.E., the Menorah was triumphantly carried off by the Roman conquerors to Rome.
The menorah is the symbol of Judaism since ancient times and is the emblem on the coat of arms of the modern state of Israel.
